Using your CRM from other apps (API and webhooks)

If you use another app - a spreadsheet, Zapier, a developer's script - it can read and add to your CRM with a key, and your CRM can tell it when something happens. This is optional: most people never need it.

Making a key

  1. In Inbox, press API on the line of settings under the menu.
  2. Under Make a key, type what it is for (for example Zapier) and press Make it.
  3. Copy the key straight away. It is shown once. If you lose it, make a new one.

Forget it switches a key off for good. Treat a key like a password: anyone who has it can read your contacts.

What a key can do

Send it as Authorization: Bearer <key> to https://api.swiftagentsites.com/v1/. It can:

  • list your contacts, or fetch one,
  • add a contact, or update one with the same email,
  • write a note on a contact,
  • list your inbox.

Lists come up to 100 at a time.

Webhooks: telling another app when something happens

  1. On the same page, paste the address to send to under Send to. It must start with https.
  2. Tick the events you want - for example A contact is added, A conversation starts, They write back or A lead comes in from a site.
  3. Press Start sending.

Each message carries an x-swift-signature header so the receiving app can check it really came from your CRM. Stop removes a webhook.
