Using your CRM from other apps (API and webhooks)
If you use another app - a spreadsheet, Zapier, a developer's script - it can read and add to your CRM with a key, and your CRM can tell it when something happens. This is optional: most people never need it.
Making a key
- In Inbox, press API on the line of settings under the menu.
- Under Make a key, type what it is for (for example Zapier) and press Make it.
- Copy the key straight away. It is shown once. If you lose it, make a new one.
Forget it switches a key off for good. Treat a key like a password: anyone who has it can read your contacts.
What a key can do
Send it as Authorization: Bearer <key> to https://api.swiftagentsites.com/v1/. It can:
- list your contacts, or fetch one,
- add a contact, or update one with the same email,
- write a note on a contact,
- list your inbox.
Lists come up to 100 at a time.
Webhooks: telling another app when something happens
- On the same page, paste the address to send to under Send to. It must start with https.
- Tick the events you want - for example A contact is added, A conversation starts, They write back or A lead comes in from a site.
- Press Start sending.
Each message carries an x-swift-signature header so the receiving app can check it really came from your CRM. Stop removes a webhook.
