Sending from your own domain

Until you connect your domain, emails from your CRM go out from your address on ours (for example yourname@swiftagentsites.com). Connecting it lets them go out from you@yourdomain.com.

  1. In Inbox, press Sending at the bottom of the menu beside the list.
  2. Type your domain - just yourdomain.com, no www - and press Show me the records.
  3. Sign in wherever your domain is managed (GoDaddy, Squarespace, Namecheap, Cloudflare, Google...). Open its DNS settings.
  4. Add each record from the table exactly as shown: its Type, Name and Value (and Priority for the MX one).
  5. Back in your CRM, press Check again. Each record shows seen once it is found. It usually takes minutes, sometimes a few hours.

Once your domain is verified, your emails go out from it automatically. Replies still come back into your CRM.

You can send from more than one domain. See Sending from more than one domain.

The one mistake to avoid: two SPF records

A name can only have one record starting v=spf1. Two on the same name makes email fail everywhere, silently.

  • Our SPF record goes on its own name (usually send), so it rarely clashes with one you already have on your main domain.
  • If you already have a v=spf1 record on that exact name, do not add a second - edit yours and add our include: to it, before the ~all at the end.
  • The long _domainkey record is always safe to add as it is.
